Glass has endless applications - for example in offices, swimming pools, and paddle courts - and airports are no exception. From simple to complex applications, glass has been used in airport construction and it is a trend that will certainly continue in the years to come. Pictured above is one of the latest futuristic projects at Singapore's international airport, Jewel Changi.

Jewel Changi is a tropical garden whose glass dome is 200m long and 150m wide, with a 12m central opening. This garden is another tourist attraction at this airport and the use of the glass roof has combined acoustic control with the natural light required by the vegetation.

In fact, modern architecture has extensively used glass in the construction and refurbishment of airports. Due to its applicability (windows, doors, ceilings, floor), the choice of the ideal glass must take into consideration the following aspects: safety against human impact, protection against security violations, acoustic insulation, resistance capacity, visual control and high durability of the material.

In Nortempera we have a large number of combinations that allow the choice of the ideal glass for each situation. For airports, as safety is primordial, we advise the use of laminated glass.
